 Five
kilometres from Positano, along the Costeira Amalfitana, is Praiano.
Once an ancient fishing village, Praiano now offers the perfect
spot from which to explore the Amalfi Coast. A regular bus services
offers good access to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, and Sorrento -
you could even make a day trip to Pompeii.
The village of Praiano - perched on that familiar craggy Amalfi
Coast - has panoramic views over the Mediterranean with Capri in
the hazy distance. The scenery is dramatically beautiful, with the
lemon groves terraced into the mountainside. The Village has all
facilities, a number of small, family- run restaurants; a small
alimentari; cafe/bars and local bus stop. From the top of the Village,
steps lead down to one of the small beaches where the local fishermen
keep their colourful fishing boats. |
