THE AMALFI COAST

Five kilometres from Positano, along the Costeira Amalfitana, is Praiano. Once an ancient fishing village, Praiano now offers the perfect spot from which to explore the Amalfi Coast. A regular bus services offers good access to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, and Sorrento - you could even make a day trip to Pompeii.

The village of Praiano - perched on that familiar craggy Amalfi Coast - has panoramic views over the Mediterranean with Capri in the hazy distance. The scenery is dramatically beautiful, with the lemon groves terraced into the mountainside. The Village has all facilities, a number of small, family- run restaurants; a small alimentari; cafe/bars and local bus stop. From the top of the Village, steps lead down to one of the small beaches where the local fishermen keep their colourful fishing boats.
