This newly restored cottage is in a peaceful setting in the heart
of rural Provence. The house is situated in a small hamlet consisting
of the French owners' farmhouse and another cottage which is also
available to let. All three properties have their own pool and
are secluded from one another. The interior is delightful and
full use has been made of beautiful local materials creating a
colourful and cheerful atmosphere. This is the country of lavender
fields and fruit trees and there are lovely views of hills and
open countryside from the pool terrace.
Accommodation
There is a large Provençal farmhouse kitchen with dining
area. It is fully equipped and has a dishwasher, mixed gas and
electric hob, built in electric oven, kettle, toaster and fridge-freezer.
There is also a washing machine. From the kitchen there are a
few steps up to the living room. This has armchairs, a sofabed,
a television and a log fire. The house has two bedrooms, one with
a double bed, 140cm, and the other with twin beds, 90cm. There
is a shower room with attractively tiled cubicle and 2 basins.
The WC is separate. There is a wide terrace by the pool and a
grassy area with swings. There is also a boules pitch. There is
plenty of garden furniture and a barbecue.
Situation
The house is situated about 6km from the village of Mane which
has a few small shops and restaurants and about 8km from Forcalquier,
a small town which has an extensive street market on Mondays,
a supermarket and a good choice of restaurants and small shops.
Aix-en-Provence is about 40 minutes drive. There is much to explore
in this area such as the Lubéron Hills, the big lake at
Saint Croix, and the spectacular Verdon Gorges. There is a golf
course at Manosque about 20 minutes drive and tennis courts at
Forcalquier. This is a relatively 'undiscovered' part of Provence
and there are many old villages to explore.
Linen
This is available for hire from the owner @ EUR 20 per person
for bed linen and indoor towels.
Terms
Refundable damage deposit EUR 225.
Electricity and heating are included.
Final clean is included. Extra cleaning available approx. EUR
10 per hour.
