100 metres from swimming lake

This is a comfortable Provençal villa in a peaceful setting amongst pine forests and cypress trees on a hillside overlooking the lake near Esparron de Verdon. This is an excellent holiday home: well-equipped, clean, light and spacious inside. It has a large, secluded terrace with furniture for outdoor dining and magnificent views. The lake is only 100 metres away and is accessible via steps down through woodland (not suitable for very young children but there is a more accessible beached area about 1km away) and it is ideal for bathing and windsurfing. There is a small garden, on a slope and not enclosed, but there is plenty of room for children to play outside.

Accommodation
There is a comfortable open-plan living room with a television (satellite), comfortable seating, a big open fireplace, dining area and French windows opening to the south facing terrace. The kitchen is separated from this room by a counter bar. It is well equipped with a 4-ring hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washing machine, toaster. There are three bedrooms each with twin beds which may be made up as doubles. One of these has an en-suite shower room and WC, and door opening to the garden. The other two rooms share a bathroom with bath and shower above and there is a separate WC. There is electric heating.

Situation
The house is situated about 2km from Esparron, a pretty village about 45 minutes north east of Aix-en-Provence. It has some good restaurants overlooking the lake, and a few shops, a little harbour for sailing boats and it is possible to take a boat trip on the lake. Gréoux-les-Bains is a lively little town about 8km away. There is a good street market and an excellent choice of retaurants. The house is well placed for a wide range of activities: you can windsurf on the lake just below the house, there is a tennis court available for residents, there is horse riding nearby, and you can go white water rafting on the River Verdon. The scenery in the Gorges de Verdon is dramatic and beautiful, reminiscent of the Grand Canyon (on a smaller scale!).

Linen and terms
Linen may be hired from the owners, EUR 15 per person for bed linen and towels. Refundable damage deposit EUR 450. Electricity is extra. Final clean EUR 30 (compulsory). Femme de ménage available upon request during the holiday, EUR 12 per hour.
