The
Ile St. Louis, right in the heart of the city, is one of the most
charming and exclusive neighbourhoods in Paris. A wide range of
restaurants, shops and services are close to hand, while a five minute
walk will bring you to Notre Dame cathedral, Beaubourg and the Marais.
This bright and stylish apartment, with its exquisite river views, is

Petit Hôtel Particulier de Marigny. It is a wonderful and restful base
from which to explore Paris.
Access

beautiful curved stone staircase to the first floor. Elegantly
appointed with high ceilings, the living area has floor to ceiling
windows offering magnificent views of the Seine and the Right Bank.
Beautiful antique furniture and a impressive marble fireplace add to
the feeling of old world luxury. Furthermore, there is also a private
terrace with table and wrought iron chairs, plants and flowers, the
perfect place to sit and relax, or enjoy breakfast, lunch or cocktails
on a summer evening, with the river flowing just metres away. At night
it is magical with the poplar trees on the quay and the lights of the
Bateaux Mouches below. The cosy bedroom on a mezzanine level offers the
same views without even having to get out of bed!

RUE
DE
MONTMORENCY
1 Bedroom.
Sleeps 2 - 4 People.
|
This
very compact and well designed ground floor apartment is situated in
Rue de Montmorency, one of the oldest streets in Paris, in the Marais.
The Marais is a trendy and vibrant quartier, filled with individual
boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants. It is also home to the
Carnavelet and Picasso Museums. Rue de Montmorency is just a few
minutes walk from the Pompidou Centre and the nearest metro station is
Rambuteau. The Place de l’Hôtel de Ville and the Place de la République
are both within 10 minutes walk, and a little further will bring you to
the Ile St Louis, and the Place St Michel on the Left Bank. There are a
selection of small supermarkets and boulangeries very close to the
apartment, and a wonderful open-air market in the Rue de Bretagne about
5 minutes walk away.
The
apartment is accessed by a main door (with security code) into a
courtyard, where each of the ground floor apartments has its own
private terrace. Our apartment is at the end of the courtyard and
accessed by its own terrace, which is furnished with table and chairs,
pot plants and a canvas cover providing shade. Entrance is into the
main living/dining area, which is equipped with phone, TV, DVD and
stereo. The apartment also has wi-fi internet access. There is a
sofa-bed in the living area, suitable for extra guests or children.
Stairs
lead up from the living /dining area to a mezzanine level with a
bedroom corner, with large double bed. There are plenty of wardrobes
and shelves on this level for storage. The decoration and furnishings
are modern, with wooden floors and white painted walls, but the high
ceilings have the original old exposed beams, which together with the
clever layout, gives the apartment a great deal of character. A few
steps lead down from the living/dining room to the open-plan kitchen on
a slightly lower level. There is a small dishwasher, fridge/freezer,
oven/hob, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and kettle. Behind
cupboard doors, there is a washing machine, drier, iron and ironing
board. A couple of steps lead up from the kitchen area to the bathroom
with bath (with hand held shower), basin, WC and heated towel rail.

LE
BATEAU
1 Bedroom.
Sleeps 2 - 4 People.
|
Le
Bateau is both a luxurious and highly original holiday home, offering
all the ingredients for enjoying Paris in comfort and style, whether
for a romantic honeymoon, or as a base for a small family wanting a
central location from which to explore Paris. Ideally situated, it is
in the Port de Suffren, on the left bank, almost right at the foot of
the Eiffel Tower. In fact, the Port de Suffren was formerly an active
dock where many of the materials for the building of the Eiffel Tower,
were unloaded. Nearby, there is a twice weekly open-air market and a
good selection of boutiques, restaurants, bistros and, of course, the
historical sites which make up this fascinating part of Paris. There is
a metro station and RER riverside service, and a bus stop, all within a
couple of minutes walk, and also an embarkation point for a boat bus
which can be taken up river with stops including the Musée d’Orsay and
Notre Dame.
The
boat was originally built in the north of Holland in 1916 and, powered
by sail, she worked the inland seas and waterways of the Netherlands
carrying cargoes such as steel, coal and grain. In the mid-fifties she
was outfitted with diesel power, her tonnage was increased and she
continued to work northern Europe and the Rhine Basin well after her
162-ton capacity was no longer competitive. Converted to a "living
boat" in the early seventies, it continues to be a completely
functional and fully autonomous river boat, with her home port in Paris
since 1975. Refurbished recently to a very high standard, it offers
spacious accommodation of around 800 sq. ft comprising a bedroom,
bathroom, kitchen and extensive living-dining area.
The
boat is accessed via a tree-lined entrance to the port and the
cobblestone quai. Once on board the deck-terrasse, you will be able to
enjoy the expansive view of the Seine and the Beaux-Arts architecture
of Passy on the opposite bank, while sipping a cocktail in the evening,
or having a morning coffee. With panelled wooden walls, and floorboards
with rugs, the interiors are very comfortably furnished with
comfortable sofa and chairs, and equipped with TV, VHS, a video
library, telephone (no charge for local calls), fax and wi-fi internet
connection. There is a king-size bed in the bedroom and a second sofa
in the living area can be converted into two very comfortable single
beds for additional guests. The owner will meet guests on arrival and
is available to help guests with information, such as the location of
neighborhood shops, markets, public transportation, etc. A variety of
quide books for Paris are provided, including restaurants, museums,
walking tours and there are two bicycles available. Reserved parking
can also be arranged.
